Albania’s European dream is just out of reach

Despite fulfilling all entry criteria, the pandemic has thwarted plans for a larger European Union. "Albania has been knocking at the EU's door for more than a decade, and this spring, it finally seemed to open. On the 25th of March 2020, governments in the 27-nation bloc gave their approval for accession negotiations with Albania and its neighbour North Macedonia.
