As we anticipate the Supreme Court ruling on Roe vs Wade, Gillian chooses this story which has captured many people across multiple mediums. This is the story of an underground organization in Chicago that helped women safely access abortion, which at the time was generally illegal in all but four states. The women behind the network risked their freedom to offer people who found themselves with an unwanted pregnancy to “call Jane.”
